Baterai Laptop Meledak, Ibu & Anak Nyaris Terbunuh

Ini peringatan bagi Anda untuk lebih berhati-hati ketika membawa barang-barang bawaan apapun jenisnya. Karena bisa saja barang yang Anda anggap sepele dan tidak berbahaya, malah justru mengancam keselamatan jiwa. Seorang ibu di Hereford, Inggris beserta kedua anaknya hampir saja merenggang nyawa setelah baterai laptop yang diletakan di dalam bagasi mobilnya meledak dan terbakar.

Saat kejadian, Sarah Williams beserta anaknya, Meg (8) dan Ben (3) berada di dalam mobil usai mengantar anaknya Steven bersekolah. Di tengah perjalanan, tiba-tiba ia mendengar ledakan dari arah belakang mobilnya.

Terkejut mendengar ledakan tersebut, Sarah dengan sigap keluar dari mobilnya yang saat itu sedang berhenti karena lampu merah. Dengan dibantu oleh seorang pengemudi mobil di belakangnya, ia lalu segera mengeluarkan kedua anaknya. “Saya mendengar suara ledakan di belakang mobil seperti suara ban mobil pecah, sungguh beruntung pengemudi mobil di belakang juga membantu saya mengeluarkan anak-anak,” ujar perempuan berusia 32 tahun itu.

Setelah menyelamatkan Sarah dan kedua anaknya, lelaki yang tidak disebutkan identitasnya itu juga ikut membantu mencari tahu sumber ledakan tersebut. Setelah diperiksa ternyata ledakan berasal dari baterai laptop yang meledak di dalam bagasi mobilnya. Lelaki itu langsung menyingkirkan laptop yang terbakar dengan menggunakan kayu yang ada di sekitar jalan.
